Meet Neil

I was born in Kettering Ohio but grew up in the land of fried chicken (Kentucky). My dad and his dad… and his dad were pastors, so I spent a lot of time in church growing up. I gave my life to Christ at a young age and assumed walking with Jesus would be easy. When my dad suddenly passed away when I was 11 my easy, perfect life came crashing down. Through this and other difficult circumstances over the coming years, I felt that God was equipping me for the call to ministry at a young age.

During my time at the University of Kentucky, I stepped on a flyer for a summer camp called Pine Cove that would lead me to travel to the nation of Texas for the first time. While working at camp, God began to tug at my heart for kids ministry but I reassured him that high school age was more my “calling”. After college, I moved to Texas to participate in Watermark’s Residency program with the high school ministry. Here, God began to teach me what it looks like to be faithful and trust His timing, even when the end of the program found me selling stretchy pants at Lululemon for 5 months. Now, I have the honor of serving Watermark on the kids team where I get to proclaim the good news of Jesus to 4th and 5th graders every week! Life following Jesus is not easy, but we don’t have to do it alone.
