I grew up in Fort Worth where I heard the gospel every Sunday at church. When I was 11, I understood I needed a Savior, and invited Jesus into my life. God has continued to faithfully pursue me ever since.
After almost 20 years of marriage and a heartbreaking divorce, I have two amazing kids and the crazy-hard privilege of continuing to pray for reconciliation with my spouse. As I choose each day to remain single or be reconciled (1 Corinthians 7) God is teaching me to depend only on Him. He is also teaching me that I can choose joy and contentment in circumstances I would have never chosen for myself.
I have a journalism degree from The University of Texas at Austin and worked in organizational change consulting and marketing before I became a mom. Prior to being called into full-time ministry, I worked with a non-profit organization doing policy-related advocacy for people with disabilities at the federal level. I also helped grow a national parent-led grassroots movement that continues to spearhead policy change across 50 states and Canada for kids with learning disabilities and literacy challenges.
Now, I get to help provide access, accommodations and inclusive environments for children and students with Special and Additional Needs here at Watermark. If you have a heart for people with disabilities, come serve with Kaleidoscope! I also have a blast leading in our Thursday Night Women’s Bible study and love to take long road trips with my kids!
Want to learn more about why I am praying for marital reconciliation? Read the Watermark Pastoral Statement on Marriage, Divorce and Remarriage. I’m happy to share more of my story and encourage you to do that hard thing you’re called to – it’s the best way to get to know & trust our big, good God!
