I have been blessed to have been a part of this church since we moved to Dallas in 2002. I have served in the Arts department here at Watermark since 2002 when my wife and moved to Dallas. I began serving on the "Staging Crew" which was responsible to the set-up and tear-down of our then, mobile church. My volunteering eventually moved to part-time and then full-time employment. I am currently serving as the Director of Arts
My wife and I met in Sugarcreek, Ohio while in High School and dated through college, before I finally had the guts to propose. We married in 2001 after an 18 month engagement. For the record, I do not recommend dating for 4 years before proposing, nor do I recommend long engagements. If you'd like to hear more about my mistakes and how you might learn from them, just drop me an email. My rates are cheap!
I am blessed to be that father to 5 kids. Our first child was born in 2004 and we had another in 2006. In the Summer of 2009, my wife told me that she felt that the Lord was calling our family to adopt. At the time, we had the "perfect family": one boy, one girl, and a dog. I took some time to seek the Lord in Scripture and in prayer and to speak with other men that had gone down the road of adoption. I took a bit more time than my wife, but I, too, knew that we were being called to adopt. We became licensed Foster Parents and opened our home to a sibling group of 3 beautiful children that we adopted in November of 2011.
My life to this point has been a process of learning to release control. I often fail to remember the Lord's faithfulness, not because He is unfaithful, but because I am "prone to wander." Proverbs 16:9 says, "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." I can clearly see the love of God and His faithfulness as I reflect on how he brought me to where I am today, through gifts of my wife, my children and my church home.
