I grew up in good ‘ol Keller, TX and was raised in the church my entire life but didn’t really know what it looked like to truly walk with Christ until high school. During that time at a conference my school hosted was when I realized that I was relying on my parents’ faith. In that moment, I surrendered my life to God and really made my faith my own.
During my college years, I plugged into a Christian organization that encouraged me to live authentically, be in community and have accountability. This is when I completely opened up about many struggles and challenges going on throughout my life that I felt like I had to take all on my own. I had a group of girls that loved me whole heartedly and really showed me what it meant to walk in the light and to be free of my sins by the power of Christ who lives in me. (Hebrews 12:1-2, 1 John 1:9, James 5:16)
I started attending the Porch with some friends from college and loved how strongly Watermark pushed for community. Once I graduated, I was working remote which brought me to the Watermark Coffee Shop quite frequently. I saw the staff work in such a way that really showed what it meant to be The Church. This encouraged me to apply and become a part of the Community Team. Having joined this team, I have felt so loved and encouraged by everyone here.
In my free time, I am either at a coffee shop, outside (if the weather’s not gross), surrounded by friends and family, or at Chuy’s (love that creamy jalapeño dip).
