Hey y’all! I grew up in eastern Colorado where we said, “Hey you guys!” and Dr.Pepper was not referred to as “coke” but “pop”. Weird, I know, but I’ll defend my definition of “pop” still. I grew up with loving parents, a sister and a brother, and our lives revolved around all things with our ranch and cattle (and the Denver Broncos). We went to church on Sundays and I remember praying to accept Christ with my VBS leader, but I still struggled with believing the lie that I could earn God’s love and salvation through my performance. After my family moved from Colorado to Oklahoma, He captured my heart and became my Savior — the one and only Savior that died on the cross for me and my sins — and I fully understood that I could do nothing to earn God’s love.
I went to college at Baylor (Sic ‘em Bears!) and came to Dallas after I graduated to start working in customer service and then marketing for a non-profit here. I found out about Watermark through college friends and a year later joined a community group and started attending The Porch. Community and The Porch have been some of the biggest blessings of my life — hands down, life changing. Through The Porch, I found out about the short-term discipleship trips to Ethiopia. After my second trip to Africa, I felt very strongly that God was leading me into vocational ministry. While I wasn’t sure exactly what that would look like, God made His plan clear when, in August of 2013, I was hired to be the Young Adults Assistant (woohoo!!!!!)! I cannot believe how blessed I am to be serving with the Young Adults of Dallas in this way and being on such an amazing team at Watermark! Is this real life?! God is SO GOOD and He is doing crazy cool things through the Young Adults in Dallas and around the world!
When I’m not at Watermark, I love relaxing/seeing movies/eating with friends, running/biking/walking around White Rock, drinking coffee and spending some good quality time with my dog Brody.
