I grew up in a small farming and ranching community on the Gulf Coast, El Maton, Texas. When I was a kid, I wanted to do two things when I grew up – be a cop and be a pilot (I had no interest in being a farmer). From the ages of 18-28, I pursued both of those dreams, and served as cop for 8+ years, and was a professional pilot for a year. Next came a career in the oil and gas industry which led to a move to Dallas.
After chasing everything the world had to offer and being left feeling empty and guilt-ridden as a result, I heard the gospel clearly for the first time and decided to go all in with Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of 29. Immediately, the hole I felt inside of me started to fill up.The Porch was so impactful on my walk with Christ that when the Young Adults team asked if I would consider serving on staff, my wife and I jumped at the opportunity. It is a privilege to be able to serve young adults that have bought into the lies of the world that I once believed and then be able to point them to Christ. I truly believe that God is doing BIG things through this ministry, and I am grateful to get to be a small part of it. Little did I know that God had a plan for me to be a “farmer” after all - it is just for a different type of “crop” that the Lord led me to be a laborer for (Matt 9:37-38).
I met my wife, Andi, at LAUNCH retreat in 2015, and in January 2017, I had the amazing honor of saying “I do.” She is an amazing nurse, but she’s an even more amazing wife! We both see God in nature, so we love to travel as often as we can. Other than that, we just hang out in Dallas with our dog, Zeke (short for Ezekiel).
