|Because of my dad’s job, I was blessed during my childhood with the experience of living on both coasts of the United States, Canada. I met my dear husband, Jeff, at SMU (Go, Ponies!) where we both attended during the famous “death penalty” years in the late 1980’s and enjoyed two soccer Homecomings while our school was without a football program. I am mom to two great kids, Drew and Beth, who inspire me daily. |
When I graduated from college, I was on fire for myself, pursuing fulfillment in material possessions and achievement at work, climbing up the corporate ladder. When I chose to leave a highly successful career in sales to stay home with our son, I quickly found myself ill-equipped as a young mother. In my weakness, I felt very isolated and depressed, feeling a need to keep up appearances and “wear a mask”. Instead of being authentic about my struggles as a new parent, I allowed fear, control and perfectionism to replace peace and love, causing chaos in our home. Through several Godly women I connected with in a bible study at the time, God met me in this place of brokenness and my life was forever changed through His saving grace and love.
Because of the healing that I found through God’s word and authentic community, I have a passion for serving young families and mentoring newborn moms. When our family joined the church in 2006, I began serving in Square One, Watermark’s ministry for first-time mothers. Over time, I was called to a place of leadership in Square One and have been humbled and blessed to be a part of shepherding its growth and outreach to many young families in the DFW area and in Texas. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to now equip parents, serve families and communicate God’s love to our youngest children from newborn to age five as Watermark’s Starting Blocks Director. In my free time, I love to read, exercise, cook, and travel to new places!
