Meet Karen

I am honored to be married to Charles, a wonderful godly leader. We were married in 1987 and have grown deeper in love each year. We have four kids, all Aggies, Whoop! We are very excited for the choices they are making in life- to follow closely after Christ. I was blessed to have grown up in a strong Christian family where I was the middle child with awesome brothers on either side of me. My grandmother led me to Christ when I was 5. For many years I had been halfheartedly walking the walk in a Christian private school, then my senior year I started attending public school which caused my eyes to be opened to what amazing grace I had been given in Christ. I graduated from Baylor, however I spent most Wednesday nights and weekends down Hwy 6 in College Station. I have “bled maroon” since I was a kid. My favorite memories growing up were made during family trips. My dad was a pilot for a major airline so we were so blessed to visit many places around the world.

After my kids reached high school, I went to work part-time for 6 years at one of the Frisco high schools. Those years were sweet times as I worked with students that had special needs. It was very rewarding to watch those precious kids work so hard to accomplish things so many of us take for granted. When the area of international trip coordinator came open at Watermark, I was thrilled to be considered. This brought together two of my favorite things in life…. spreading the good news of Jesus and travel! It has been such a joy to be a tiny part of a team that serves our community and those around the world. It is wonderful to be in a place where people are transparent about their struggles and excited to share their victories that come through Christ. I thank the Lord each day that I am a part of THE church that is radically seeking the lost and making disciples as we have been called to do.
