Meet Chase

Community has been modeled for me my entire life. Whether by my parents, our church, my group of friends or countless people around me, living life together, eating together and knowing Jesus together has been given a top priority. Now, this priority is literally in the name of my church. Not only that, but I have the privilege of watching middle and high school friends begin to grasp who Jesus is, know Him and encourage them in obedience to Him. Community and discipleship: two things that are absolute gifts and I love that I get to be a part of it.

I was born and raised in Plano, TX and have a family that loves Jesus. We went to church every week, but I would walk away thinking more about how to stay within the “rules” of Christianity rather than what responding to the grace of Christ would look like. I was more concerned with myself: sports, my accomplishments and my image. I struggled with drugs and alcohol and kept my second life hidden from my parents and the church. Then, as a junior in high school, Jesus broke me down and I understood for the first time what grace really was and what happened for me when He died on the cross. Then (again), influential, Godly men stepped into my life and taught me what it looked like to follow Jesus.

In college, I wanted nothing more than to do the same. I volunteered with Young Life at Texas A&M (where I met my beautiful wife, Tara) and fulfilled my longing for adventure in the summers as a guide at Noah’s Ark- a whitewater rafting company. The community and discipleship formed through Young Life and Noah’s my walk with Jesus more than anything else- not only being a disciple, but hoping to make disciples as well.

After graduating in 2012, I went on Staff with Young Life in Denton, took a few years to realize my wife was just a city away, and married her in November of 2014. I am passionate about people knowing that Jesus is Lord and His Word is ultimate and powerful and awesome. I love hanging out with my wife, going on adventures to the mountains, playing sports, a good cup of Joe and a great book.
