I grew up west of Fort Worth in Weatherford, Texas (home of the fightin’ kangaroos) as the youngest child with four siblings who I now call close friends. When I was 5 years old I decided that when I grew up I wanted to teach and work with kids, so after high school I knew education was my destination. I pursued a teaching degree at Texas Tech (Wreck ‘em) and jumped into a 3rd grade classroom a month after graduation. As I spent my days teaching math and science God used each moment to teach me love, grace, and how to trust him more than myself.
Quickly into teaching I was introduced to Watermark through The Porch and later began attending services in Fort Worth. It was through different ministries here like Equipped Disciple and Regen that I began to see the truth of God and fully understand who he is through his word. As a kid I had learned about God and even accepted Christ at 13, but it wasn’t until my mid 20’s that I became fully devoted to him. The head knowledge of Jesus was present for a long time, but I spent so long finding identity in the world that I struggled to let it go to my heart. The moment I gave up control Jesus could step in and I finally understood the value of his grace and sacrifice. I know that it was the faithfulness of God and his endless pursuit of my heart that caused me to completely turn my life over to Christ and go all in. I never could have imagined that God would have brought me down the road he did, but couldn’t be happier with where He continues to lead me.
I’m an active supporter of live music, Weatherford’s Pizza Place, college football, and small towns. I believe dessert is acceptable at any time of day, all chances to talk/listen to people should be taken, and being near the water with friends is the greatest way to spend free time.I’m beyond excited and thankful to be a part of the Fort Worth team and can’t wait to see what God does here!
