CARR ELEMENTARY – WEST DALLAS
Recognized as DISD’s Partner of the Year for our 2011-12 Watermark’s outreach effort at Carr Elementary has been significant. This year, let’s help provide school supplies for 400+ students at Carr Elementary. Here’s how you can take part.

•  Visit Watermark.org/BackToSchool between July 23 and August 16.
•  Purchase online the supplies a student at Carr Elementary needs to go back to school…plus a cool drawstring backpack. Cost: $25.
•  The supplies will be delivered to a child at the Carr Elementary Back to School Bash.

SERVE AT CARR ELEMENTARY OR BE A MENTOR IN WEST DALLAS
Help serve the team at Carr Elementary or build relationships with kids and families in West Dallas by taking part in the following:

School Supply & Backpack Assembly
•  Saturday, August 25  Carr Elementary  1952 Bayside Street  Dallas
•  Help assemble school supplies for students at Carr Elementary.
•  Check the External Focus blog (http://watermarkblogs.org/externalfocus) to find out more and to sign up to serve.

Back to School Bash 
•  Tuesday, August 28  Carr Elementary  1952 Bayside Street  Dallas 
•  Build relationships with students and teachers and help distribute backpacks at the Carr Elementary Back to School Bash.
•  Visit the External Focus blog for details and to sign up.

Ongoing Service Opportunities at Carr Elementary
•  Mentoring – mentor a 4th or 5th grader at Carr through our mentoring partner, Mercy Street.
•  Classroom/Teacher Support - provide hardworking teachers with classroom assistance.
•  Weekday Tutoring - Work with students during the day at Carr (materials provided).
•  Saturday School Volunteer – Work with students on Saturday mornings from January through March.

SINGLE PARENT FAMILIES AT WATERMARK
•  Join the Single Parent Family Ministry as we help prepare Single Parent Families to head back to school.
•  Individually or along with your community help get kids the school supplies they need for their school/district/grade and stuff a backpack!
•  Sign-up up at www.watermark.org/ministries/single-parent-family-ministry/ we will send you the information you need to send a kid back to school.
•  Please note that backpacks and supplies may cost approximately $75-$100.
•  School supplies will be distributed at the Single Parent Family Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 18 from 8:30 am – noon at Watermark. For more details, visit watermark.org.
