Implementing a wise plan is the key to the prodigal's healing. We discourage families of prodigals from executing a plan until they are ready to implement it to the full. A written plan is effective only if those responsible for enforcement are on the same page. Rigid enforcement gives freedom to parents, siblings, and spouses who struggle with co-dependency in any form. It also lets the prodigal finally take responsibility for their actions, which is mandatory for true recovery.
