Every single dollar stewarded at Watermark is part of the “missions budget,” strategically deployed to advance God’s mission here and around the world.
We don't “pass the plate” but that’s not because there isn’t great need. In fact, we have more opportunities than resources at any given time. Rather, we believe this is the best way to facilitate joyful giving (2 Corinthians 9:7, Matthew 6:4).
Let us all prayerfully consider how we might continue to invest in this mission with our hearts and God’s possessions.
"Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
- 2 Corinthians 9:7
At Watermark, we believe the giving of our firstfruits is an act of worship, a way that honors God (Prov 3:9) while also living mindfully that ALL we own, not just what we give is the Lord's (Psalm 24:1). God is a giver of eternal gifts (John 3:16, 1 Cor 2:12) and temporal (Dt 8:17-18, James 1:17) and when a follower of Christ freely and joyfully gives away their increase, whether it be money, possessions, time, or talents, they are imitating God. We are excited about your desire to give, not only because of how your gift will allow us to continue to be about our mission of being and making disciples, but also because of what your gift prayerfully communicates to the world about your heart and relationship with God (2 Cor 9:12-15) and how investing wisely benefits you (Acts 20:35, Luke 12:33).

Note: Debit cards are now a payment option as well. Credit cards are still not an available method.
During Weekend Services

Gifts can by sent by mail or dropped off at the Watermark offices at the following address: Watermark Community Church, Contributions, 7540 LBJ Freeway, Dallas, TX 75251

Giving to Our Ministry Partners and/or Other Designated Funds
You can give to certain ministry partners and/or to special funds special opportunities through one of Watermark's "designated funds." Giving through a designated fund can often be more strategic than giving to a ministry partner as an individual donor. When you give this way, 100% of your donation goes to the ministry partner, but it also allows Watermark to strengthen our partnerships, ensures funds are deployed strategically, reduces administrative burdens for our partner ministries, and shifts attention away from individual donor relationships to church partnerships.
To give to a designated fund, write the name of the ministry and/or fund in your check's memo line. We're unable to process payments online for designated funds. Designated funds include:
Giving Toward International Discipleship Efforts

What is our budget allocation?
84% goes directly to Kingdom work, including all midweek and weekend ministries, our ministry partners (local and international), conferences and other strategic investments in churches locally and around the world, and our staff.
16% of our budget goes toward operating, maintaining, and developing the facilities at our four campuses, which are used all throughout the week.
How are budgets created, approved, and managed?
Each ministry builds their budget from zero every year, evaluating what we should keep doing, start doing, and stop doing. Each new budget is reviewed at three levels:
We have processes that track every dollar in and out of Watermark, with monthly reporting for each department. Our financial statements are audited by an outside firm annually to ensure accuracy and accountability.
Why don't we pass the plate at Watermark?
It’s not because there isn’t a need. We believe this is the best way to facilitate joyful giving (2 Corinthians 9:7, Matthew 6:4). Anyone can send checks by mail, give online, or place gifts in the giving boxes across our campuses.
Does the budget change every year?
Our overall budget grew by 6% from last year. Watermark’s attendance has grown by an average of 10% annually. The only way our budget is maintained or can increase is through the generous giving of our body. We continually look for ways to use funds more effectively, cutting budgets where cost-saving opportunities are found. If additional staff seems necessary to support growth, there is a rigorous process to vet all requests before they are approved. Our actual spending has consistently been less than budgeted. Any extra funds are put toward reserves and other strategic priorities.
How does Watermark prepare for the unexpected?
Given that our economy cycles over time and we could be impacted in a downturn, we see wisdom in maintaining some reserves for the unknown. In accordance with the direction of our Business Advisory Team, we target setting aside funds to cover three months of operating expenses, along with a reserve account to fund repairs as needed to our facilities.
What significant opportunities are ahead for Watermark?
These projects cannot begin until the necessary resources are provided by our body.
How do I get more information?
We regularly meet with Members to discuss our budget and answer questions. Please email us to set up a meeting.
