If you are considering foster care or adoption, we want to make sure you are equipped and connected throughout the process of being licensed to open your home! Each year we offer opportunities to connect with child placing agencies to learn what the steps are to foster or adopt. We currently connect families with Buckner Children and Family Services and CK Family Services in order to be licensed, which is a critical step to moving forward.
In addition, Family Restoration also facilitates a seven-week Intro to Adoption and Foster Care Class starting each January to walk through the expectations and experiences families should consider and prepare for prior to bringing a child into their home. The class addresses all types of adoption and includes an evening to help families develop a support network.
Families considering adoption and/or foster care are invited to participate in our Family Restoration small group gatherings. Men's and women's groups meet separately to address the unique experiences and needs of men and women when parenting children through foster care or adoption.

If you are currently fostering or have adopted, we insist that no family walk this journey alone. Check out the Resources tab to identify professionals and organizations that may help your family. Each Fall, we host an Empowered to Connect class to help parents navigate the complexities that can come along with parenting a child with a background of trauma.
If you have a new foster care or adoptive child in your home and you need help with basic household items or childcare, join the Dallas Exchange on Facebook and connect with a community of families and individuals willing to help.
