Campus Shepherds

A Campus Shepherd is a lay pastor, appointed by the Elders, and operating under their authority, to shepherd the flock at their respective campus and assist the Campus Pastor in campus ministry and leadership.

He should exemplify the same qualifications set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9 for Elders/Overseers.

As a Spirit-led man, he should be marked by the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) and walk in the fear of the Lord (Proverbs 1:7, 16:6).

A Campus Shepherd must have both a deep commitment to the work of the ministry at their respective campus, as well as the margin to be highly engaged in campus leadership and shepherding.

A Campus Shepherd should be a known, vetted Member of Watermark who has a good reputation in the church and in the community.

He should be known personally by the Elders as a fully devoted disciple of Jesus who is committed to making disciples.

A Campus Shepherd is tasked with prayer, modeling of spiritual disciplines, availability to teach and coach, leadership, accountability, and to lead the campus in pastoral care. Campus Shepherds are accountable to the Elders for doctrine and core values.
