My name is Riley, and the most important thing about me is that I have “New Life in Jesus Christ!” He saved me in 1972 when I admitted I was a sinner, and trusted His work on the cross as the atonement for my sin and restoration to God. I spent my childhood years as a missionary kid traveling a lot, listening to church people argue about different doctrines and biblical opinions. If I had to do over, I would have insisted my parents and their friends give me credits for having to listen to them…I would at least have a seminary degree to show for it!
When I was in my 20’s, I was tired of dealing with performance anxiety, and obeying rules that made no sense to me. I learned the hard way that Biblical principles are there to save me from self-destruction, and not just God’s way of spoiling my fun. In 2011, I was re-introduced at Watermark to the loving Savior Jesus whom I had left many years ago. I was introduced to him by people who were loving, and who redefined my outlook on Christ and Christians.
Praise the Lord I am witnessing Romans 12:1-2 in action in my own life! God is transforming my mind to think more like him, and increasing the wisdom with which I manage life, and lead family.
I have a beautiful wife named Leah, two children and 2 grandchildren. We are all blessed to live close and are all members of Watermark. I am a Broncos fan and was one at birth. My first home game was in my mother’s stomach. My family lived several blocks from Mile High Stadium and could walk to the games. I Bleed Orange, and was a fan before it was cool.
I am an artist. Musician, love to play golf, and could eat Mexican food every day! Uh-Oh…typing “Mexican food” just made me hungry.
Oh yeah!...I like motorcycles!
