A native to Austin, home of endless local food and plentiful outdoor activities, I never would have thought I’d end up in Dallas. I grew up in a home where we went to church because it was expected on Sundays, but my actions reflected my self-righteousness and depravity. I’d heard the gospel all my life, but it wasn’t until I was 13 that I first understood I am a sinner in need of a Savior, and Christ came to set me free. At Kanakuk Kamps in Missouri, I put my faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of my sins and saving of my soul for eternity by his death and resurrection. I continue to learn more and more daily what it means to know Christ and be a bold witness to the truth of his Word.
Upon graduating from Texas A&M in 2013, I spent a year at Pine Cove Christian Camps participating in a discipleship program called The Forge. The Lord used that season to sanctify me in truth and teach me what it means to be a woman who walks by faith and not by sight.
After completing the Forge, I moved back to Austin, where I met and married a handsome red-head named Scott. That same January in 2016, we moved to Dallas for his job. I am so thankful for the Lord’s grace in bringing us to Watermark and the privilege it is to serve on staff. I get the opportunity to serve the “Big C” Church by helping other church leaders implement Watermark’s ministries in their local church bodies. When I’m not at Watermark, I spend my time looking for a place to swing up a hammock or cooking a big meal for friends. If you ever come to my house, you can expect to be well fed!
