I was born and raised in the little central Texas town of Mexia (Muh-hay-uh), and at the ripe old age of seven, I learned I was gaining not one, but two baby brothers. I may have cried at first, but I truly wouldn’t have it any other way. (Just don’t tell the twins I told you so.)
My parents took us to church every Sunday, and I believed from an early age that Jesus died for the sins of the world. However, it wasn’t until my early twenties that I began to truly understand that sacrifice and how it should impact my life, personally. I was justifying actions and believed as long as I was more good than bad, then I was still upholding my end of the deal with God. But the Lord mercifully opened my eyes and rescued me from my spiritual apathy. He showed me He offered so much more than the “religion” for which I was settling. He offered me a relationship and an abundant life that starts on this side of eternity.
I’m so grateful the Lord allows me to use my passion for children’s ministry on staff as a full-time member of the Watermark Kids team. As a former camp counselor who grew up helping with children’s sermons and vacation Bible schools back home, it’s fun to be a part of the Lord’s plan in our Watermark Kids’ lives as they discover God’s never stopping, never giving up, unbreaking, always and forever love.
When I’m not at Watermark, you’ll find me enjoying the sunshine at a ballgame (GO RANGERS!), catching a musical (or singing in one!), or laughing with friends over coffee. Forever a small town kid at heart, I love iced tea, BBQ, golf, baseball, and going to the deer lease with my family.
