I grew up in Texarkana (the Texas side… not the Arkansas side) and was raised in the church, but didn’t fully understand what it meant to live the abundant life found in Christ until I went to college at Texas A&M. Growing up with just my mom, the idea of a “heavenly Father” felt like a mystery to me, especially one who loved me unconditionally. It was in my early twenties that the Lord did a work in my life to teach me what it feels like to be fully known and fully loved by Him, my creator! No more striving. No more fear. In His eyes, I am enough!
I met my husband, Jon, my sophomore year of college, and in true A&M fashion, married him right after graduation in September of 2017! Through my four years in college, the Lord gave me a unique passion for pouring into the girls in my sorority. So much so that I stuck around an extra year to do the Fellows Program at Grace Bible Church and help grow a ministry that is focused on discipling sorority women at Texas A&M!
After Jon finished grad school and I finished the Fellows Program in May of 2018, we moved to Dallas and then got on a plane to Greece, where we spent our summer launching a college ministry for Greek students. Then, a week after returning to the states, I jumped on staff here at Watermark! I am so grateful to be on this team and to get to play a small role in what the Lord is doing through His Church here in Dallas.
Our life together so far has felt like one unexpected plot twist after another, but Jon and I can confidently say that following Jesus is the greatest adventure! When we are not at Watermark, you can find us starting a new house project, taking our Golden Retriever on a walk, or hosting a dinner party (probably tacos) with our friends!
