I’ve been an Aggie my whole life.
Born and raised in the Houston area, God used the privilege of experiencing life through the lens of many perspectives, as I was one of ten children in my family, to draw me in. Growing up, my family adopted 4 of 18 little ones that came through our home through foster care. I watched the picture of adoption play out in my home, and it both expanded my worldview and softened my heart towards the Gospel.
In junior high while at Kanakuk, I heard the Gospel clearly articulated for the first time and gave my life to Christ. But, it wasn’t until the second half of my college years at Texas A&M, after working a summer at Kids Across America where God used bold women to speak into my life, that I became fully devoted in my walk with the Lord. Previously motivated by climbing the corporate ladder, my desires shifted towards knowing more about what God says is His best for me and my desire grew to simply be faithful wherever He would call me.
What a ride it’s been since God unlocked a life to the full (John 10:10) while in college! After graduation, I lived on an island studying God’s word at the Kanakuk Institute, I married a guy (Ben!) that I never would have found during those first semesters of college when I wasn’t walking closely with the Lord, and landed in a city and at a church doing ministry in ways I could never have planned for.
Whether it was my time in corporate America selling Cadillacs for Sewell or the honor of leading a storytelling non-profit, Stand for Life, the Lord has shown me over and over again how deeply He desires us to seek Him first in all things (Matthew 6:33) in this messy life and how following His plan is worth more than what this world has to offer every. single. time.
I am excited to be on the College Team and cannot wait to see how God uses the next generation to usher in His Kingdom!
