I was born in the desert heat of Las Vegas, but my family quickly moved to Texas, where I’ve spent most of my life (with short stints in Louisiana and California). I was very fortunate to be raised in a Christian home by godly parents who loved and taught me well, and I accepted the Lord at the early age of 7. After graduating from high school in Houston, I made my way to Baylor University to study marketing.
While my foundation (biblical understanding) was strong, college proved to be a test that my faith did not withstand. I had the head knowledge of Christ and what He had done for me, but I had never had a deep, abiding love relationship with my Savior. After almost 12 years of living a somewhat lonely and definitely destructive life, “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand” (Psalm 40:2). In 2009, a friend invited me to Watermark, where I began learning about and experiencing God’s grace and love like never before…and I haven’t looked back! He is so faithful, even when (or especially when) I’m not. As C.S. Lewis said, “The Christian does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us.” What a simple and beautiful truth that He loves me just as I am!
After 12 years in various sales and marketing roles in the technology and outsourcing industries, I felt the Lord calling me to vocational ministry. I feel super blessed to be able to work with the External Focus Team as we love, encourage, and move the body of Christ to be “on mission” every day, whether here in Dallas or around the world.
When I’m not here at Watermark, you can find me hanging out with my awesome community group gals, spending time with my large extended family, or organizing something around the house. I also love old movies (think 30s/40s) and music (golden oldies), and am always up for a good board game!
