Twitter is a great way to keep in touch with friends and family all over the world. You can look at updates quickly and not get wrapped into opening many different web pages or programs.

This tool will allow you to hyperlink URL's so that your followers can see webpages you find interesting. You can also use an application called TwitPic to attach photos.

Once you have signed up and created a user name, you'll notice two things common about the Tweets that you see. When someone is referring directly to another Twitter user, they will refer to them with the "@" sign before their username. For example, @watermarkchurch will be visible to everyone, but will let readers know that you are referring to Watermark specifically.

The other symbol you will see is the hashtag "#". This symbol enables topics to be searched more easily. Take the topic of "Olympics", for instance. If you wanted to see what everyone was tweeting about the Olympics, using #Olympics makes that possible.
