Did you leave after hearing Sunday’s message and think, “Well, now what?” Each Sunday, we will provide a discussion guide for our church body designed to create a conversation about what we’re learning. We encourage you to prayerfully gather with your family, friends and community group and dive into how to apply Sunday’s teaching from God’s Word to your life.

Summary

Today, Todd speaks of our living between Friday and Sunday – the time between when Jesus died and rose again. Like the disciples, we sometimes feel discouraged when it looks like the enemy is winning. We, however should take heart, our Sunday is coming!

Discussion Questions

  1. Discuss the ways you are tempted to grow discouraged by your present circumstances. What Scriptures do you look to when you need to remind yourself of the Lord’s goodness and power? Read these out loud together.
  2. What is significant about the fact that no one took Jesus’ life from Him, but that He laid His own life down? What does this teach us about the character of God? His trustworthiness and power? What are you trusting Him with right now?
  3. When Jesus claimed, “I Am” in the garden, who was He claiming to be? What Old Testament passage does this remind you of? Who do you say that Jesus is? Do you believe He is in control of your present circumstances? That He cares for your every need?
  4. Todd stated, “The only way we will stay faithful in the midst of our trials is if we remember what the Lord accomplished on Sunday while waiting on our someday.” How can you prepare yourself to be a Philippians 1:27-30 person? How can your group pray for you this week as you face trials?
