character christ questions

Did you leave after hearing Sunday’s message and think, “Well, now what?” Each Sunday, we will provide a discussion guide for our church body designed to create a conversation about what we’re learning. We encourage you to prayerfully gather with your family, friends and community group and dive into how to apply Sunday’s teaching from God’s Word to your life.

  1. In Mark 10:32-34 and Colossians 1:15-20 we learned that Jesus is the greatest. How would your life look different this week if you lived as if you really trusted that Jesus is the greatest?
  2. Satan tries to convince us that Jesus is not the greatest, but instead that we are. However, in Mark 10:35-41 we learned that Jesus is the greatest so we don’t have to be. How have you been tempted to believe Satan’s lie and fight for Jesus’ throne this week?
  3. What resources, gifts or talents has God entrusted to you that you could use to draw attention to His greatness instead of your own? How will you do that this week?
  4. In Mark 10:42-45 we learned that whoever wants to be great must be a servant to all, giving their lives for many. In what situation do you need to follow Jesus’ example of humility in Philippians 2:3-4 forgetting yourself or exchanging your comfort for the well-being of others?
