The Porch

Join us for the Porch on Tuesday nights at 7 pm at the Watermark Worship Center. Stick around for the Porch Café. Visit us online at theporchdallas.com

The Porch is a mission and a community. Our mission is to love the city of Dallas by meeting needs and loving the hurting. We also serve our peers in Dallas through people focused environments that help young adults (20's and 30's) explore what it means to follow Christ in a post Christian culture. We gather together every Tuesday night at 7 pm at Watermark, so if you're spiritually curious or simply looking to take the next step in your faith, join us as we gather to worship through song, the spoken Word, serving the community and just hanging out at The Porch Café.

The Porch is a ministry of Watermark Community Church and is open to anyone regardless of what faith or church you come from.

Serve With Us:

  • West Dallas/Mercy Street
West Dallas' history of generational poverty has made it the 11th poorest neighborhood in America. There is little, if any, positive influence for the kids growing evidenced by the 66% drop out rate by high school and only 2% having college degrees. Most of the molding of the kids comes from their friends and hip hop culture as they grow up in single parent homes who work long hours to provide the basics for their kids.

Mercy Street started out of a desire to see this small pocket of extreme poverty transformed by pairing kids in 4th grade with caring Christian adults who will empower them to achieve their highest potential. These kids are hungry for mentors. There are opportunities to coach or attend their sporting events, help them with homework, teach them Biblical truths, and ultimately raise up a new generation of leaders to bring about a positive, permanent change to the community. For more information, check out their website at www.mercystreetdallas.org or contact Brett VanderMolen.
  • Apartment Life
Over 47% of the Dallas population lives in apartment communities; less than 5% claim to be active in the local church. A mass amount of people with a low response to the gospel gives us as a Young Adults Community an untapped opportunity to serve and reach people with the love of Christ. If your Community Group or you and a friend are looking for a safe, consistent & fun place to serve together, contact Troy Dandrea or 214-361-2275.
  • Vision Kids/Mercy Street
    3801 Holystone St. | Dallas TX 75212 | www.mercystreetdallas.org
Mercy Street educates, equips and empowers kids by promoting Christ-honoring mentoring relationships with people committed to promoting positive change in West Dallas. Mentors are needed for 4th and 5th graders. Volunteers are also needed to coach boys and girls soccer teams. Contact Stephanie Schweinfurth
