Are You Crazy Busy?
On Saturday, August 21st, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm on the 4th floor of the Tower we will spend time discussing practical ways to combat the busyness that so easily overwhelms and distracts us from oneness in our marriages. This event will be a great opportunity to meet other newly married couples and there will be plenty of time to hang-out, relax and play games (i.e. ping pong, cards, pool, foosball). Dessert and soft drinks will be provided. Please sign up here. Email Emily at emckeaigg@watermark.org with questions.
What are Foundation Groups?
Foundation Groups are small groups for newly married couples (married 0-3 years). The purpose of Foundation Groups is to prepare newly married couples within the context of community for a lifetime of marital oneness and ministry. We do this by matching up 5-6 newly married couples with a married mentor couple and focusing on components of marriage that typically challenge marital oneness (i.e. communication and conflict, finances, sexual intimacy). Our desire is for you to start your marriage well and to establish a solid foundation for your marriage from the beginning (Matthew 7:24-27).
Groups are put together based on geography, stage of life, any prior relationships you have with other newly married couples, and night of the week availability of leaders and newly married couples. A typical Foundation Group meets every other week for 15 months, and most groups meet at the homes of the Foundation Group leader couple. While the minimum meeting requirement is every other week, we have found the best groups are the ones where couples meet and hang out more than just the every other week group meeting. Joining a Foundation Group is also a great way to develop some new relationships and have some fun with other newly married couples.
FOUNDATION GROUP KICK OFF
August 29, 2010 - 2 - 3:30 pm SIGN UP NOW
Four times a year we host a "Foundation Group Kick Off" which is an opportunity to learn more about Foundation Groups and meet other couples who are interested in the groups. Our next Foundation Group Kick Off will be on August 29th from 2-3:30 pm, at the Watermark Building. SIGN UP NOW! We will join the church-wide GroupLink and have one large connecting event. Engaged couples are welcome to attend, but you will not be placed into a group until you are married. Registration will be available at a later date.
POST KICK OFF/GROUPLINK
Let the groups begin! Those of you who are married will be placed in a group upon your preference of evening (groups meet every other week at the leader's home).
Sometimes it can take a month or two before you begin your group; our hope is to get you into a group very quickly, but we do have to wait for enough couples to sign up that can meet on the same night of the week that are similar in life stage. Thank you for your patience! Please let us know if you are interested in joining a Foundation Group or attending a Foundation Group Kick-off and GroupLink event. Sign up for our next GroupLink here!
