Ryan Nixon
My heart and passion within ministry is to lead and disciple men. I am so thankful to be a part of a ministry that I not only get carry out that passion, but get to come alongside a team of volunteers who are motivated by that same passion.
I was born and raised in Austin in a family devoted to the Texas Longhorns, but as it was time to go off to college, I was ‘plucked out of darkness and placed into the light’ of Texas A&M University! Whooop!!! It was at A&M that I became best friends with my beautiful bride, Callie. We have been married since the spring of 2006 and were blessed with a beautiful little girl in August of 2010.
Before working at Watermark I worked for five years in a youth ministry called K-Life that focused on discipleship relationships. K-Life was started by some parents of its sister ministry, Kanakuk Kamps. The Lord has used Kanakuk in immense ways in my life. I trusted Christ at Kanakuk in the summer of 1991 when I was 11 years old. I was a camper for nine years, an employee for nine years, ministered alongside my wife there for five of those years and spent five years in K-Life as an Area Director. The Lord has used Kanakuk & Watermark as the two major organizations to help me know Christ more, love Christ more and want to live for Christ’s Kingdom.
I am blessed to be a part of this local church, humbled to be a part of this staff team, and excited to see how God uses this local body of believers to redeem this city and this world for Christ!
