Sometimes I just laugh at the fact that I get to do this as my job. I get a front row seat to watch God work in the lives of Young Adults every day! For the past four years, I’ve see God do immeasurably more than I could ask or imagine in my life and the lives of those around me. I never thought this is where I’d be today and yet I wouldn’t change anything, even if God gave me a do-over.
I never thought I’d be living in Texas, much less Dallas. I never thought I’d work at a church. I never thought I wouldn’t have kids by now. (Did you catch the double negative there?! I figured I’d totally have three kids by now!) I had imagined my life very different and yet this is pretty stinking great.
So much of my personal growth and my heart for walking alongside and encouraging other young women came from working at a Christian summer camp during and after college. Throughout my 20s I was not only dateless for over seven years (boo), I was doing my dream job being a Women’s Director at camp (yea)! Camp is where I met my husband, Chris. When he was hired, he was already pre-screened with the top three qualities I desired in a husband … loves God, loves kids, loves to play! It only took us six years of working together to realize that we were MFEO (as they say in Sleepless in Seattle). We have a dog named Dock and we sometimes wonder if we’ll ever be able to love kids as much as we love this dang dog! It’s ridiculous. Speaking of love, I love the Texas Rangers, raw cake batter, chips & queso, playing tennis, watching movies, and going on long walks on the beach.
I am in awe of God and His grace in my life. I am so grateful for fun friends and a wonderful family!
