Jonathan "JP" Pokluda
I am the Young Adults Director, leader of The Porch, and one of the teaching pastors here at Watermark. I grew up on a farm outside the small town of Cuero in South TX. I was involved in many different denominational churches, including nine years of Catholic school. However, I didn’t come to understand the grace of the Gospel until my early twenties when I stumbled into Watermark after pursuing all that Dallas has to offer and coming up empty. Trusting Christ as a young adult has ignited a desire in me to reach the twenties and thirties of this world for Jesus. My passion is to share the Gospel with anyone who will listen and equip others to do the same. I love teaching from the scripture and feel called to challenge Christians to multiply their faith by discipling others.
I love my wife and partner in ministry, Monica. Together we love and build into our two little girls, Presley and Finely and our son, Weston. We enjoy traveling as a family, eating out together, and playing the “thank you game."
In my free time I like listening to podcasts, watching good movies (I’m open to recommendations) with Monica, and traveling with my family- preferably to a beach. It is my great hope that God would redeem this city through rising up a generation of twenty-and-thirty-somethings who follow The LORD radically. I am a chump from a small town with an Associate’s degree in art and God uses me to show that He can use anyone.
