Cynthia Culver
Hi, I am Cynthia Culver, born in Dallas but raised a good old east Texas, Tyler girl. Some of my favorite things in life are being outdoors, my dogs (and the extended animal kingdom), sports (tennis, snow and water skiing), and reading. I come from a long line of Longhorns and was the first of my generation to graduate from the University of Texas. It was the following August in 1992, that the Lord got my attention and turned my life around, and he used Stephen Covey to do it. I love HIS sense of humor. He can use, whomever and whatever he wants, including a book by a Mormon to accomplish His will and purposes.
Following that August my life has never been the same. As I moved from Amarillo to San Francisco and back to Dallas (more for fun than anything), the bigger journey than crossing the states, was the one God was doing in my heart. After my third year at Merrill Lynch as a financial consultant in Dallas, my heart was increasingly burdened to pursue eternal things in my everyday career. The Lord used that desire to lead me to Dallas Seminary where I studied Biblical Counseling. I graduated from school and went to work at Watermark for a season, and then went into a counseling practice. During this time, the Lord used my first Christian community of Young Life leaders and this body to challenge me and to fulfill the promises in James 5:16. As I confessed my struggles to my community, and we prayed for one another, the Lord began and still to this day, continues to free me from the things that weighed me down for years. This is one of many reasons why serving on the community team, here at Watermark is a great blessing and joy in my life.
